Create visibility across systems, operations, people, and information so leadership can see what is really happening.
Business Technology & Strategic Advisory
Your people, systems, and data already contain answers. Reference Pointe connects the pieces, reveals what matters, and helps leadership turn insight into action.
Reference Pointe helps leaders understand their business more clearly, act with greater confidence, and create leverage from the people, information, and technology they already have.

Reference point
A fixed point inside complexity, so leaders can choose the next move with confidence.
What We Do
As companies grow, leadership can lose sight of what is happening across systems, departments, spreadsheets, and day-to-day work. Reference Pointe walks into that complexity, connects the pieces, and gives leaders a clearer point of reference.
Create visibility across systems, operations, people, and information so leadership can see what is really happening.
Remove friction, automate repetitive work, and get more value from the capabilities the business already owns.
Give leadership clearer information and a better point of reference for important decisions.
Where the work starts
Important information lives in disconnected systems and spreadsheets.
Teams spend time manually assembling reports leadership needs sooner.
Executives make decisions from incomplete or delayed information.
Processes that worked earlier begin breaking as the company grows.
Valuable knowledge lives in people's heads instead of shared systems.
Departments operate from different versions of the truth.
Leverage
Use what you have. Connect what matters. Add what creates leverage.
Technology should increase the capability of the organization, not simply add another system to manage. Reference Pointe evaluates what already exists, connects what is underused or disconnected, and recommends new tools only where they create meaningful leverage.
Existing systems

Capabilities
Reference Pointe starts with how the business works, then chooses the right mix of assessment, data, automation, technology strategy, AI, and execution support.
Understand the current environment, workflows, systems, information, risks, and opportunities.
Connect information across the organization so leaders can see what is actually happening.
Find repetitive, manual, or fragmented work and redesign it using practical automation.
Make smarter decisions about systems, architecture, vendors, investments, and priorities.
Identify where AI can create measurable business value without forcing it where it does not belong.
Help leadership turn recommendations into working changes instead of a report that sits on a shelf.
How We Work
The process creates a line from business reality to working change, with leadership clarity at every step.
Learn how the business actually operates, not just how the org chart says it operates.
Bring together the systems, information, workflows, and people that need to work together.
Surface patterns, opportunities, risks, bottlenecks, and information leadership could not easily see before.
Turn the findings into practical changes with measurable business value.
Industries
Reference Pointe does not claim narrow vertical specialization. The focus is on businesses where operations, people, systems, and information become more complicated as the company grows.

About

Founder
Trae Cobern
CIO operator. Practical advisor. Builder of business leverage.
Founder Trae Cobern built Reference Pointe from the operator's side of the table. As CIO for a $650M+ heavy civil contractor with 1,100+ employees, he owns technology strategy, cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise applications, and a multimillion-dollar annual technology budget. That operating experience shapes the firm's bias toward practical work that improves visibility, strengthens execution, and creates leverage from the systems and people already inside the business.
The work respects the people who already know the business and contribute to its culture. The goal is to amplify that knowledge with clearer systems, better information, and practical execution support.
Founder
Founder, Reference Pointe
Trae's career has moved from hands-on support and systems administration to vCIO, partner, and CIO roles where technology decisions carry real operational and financial weight. He has led cloud modernization, disaster recovery planning, enterprise cybersecurity, field technology, connected data platforms, and practical AI adoption across construction operations. Reference Pointe reflects that path: advisory grounded in executive responsibility, operational reality, and measurable business outcomes.
